Hostel Facilities
I. MOSQUE
Separate mosque facilities have been provided in all the hostels where
Imam lead prayers five times a day. Also an Alam-I-Din has been appointed for
Jumma prayer. A central Jamia Mosque has also been constructed in front of
Umar Hall.
II. MESS
Separate mess in each hostel is being run by the resident
students under the supervision of the Hostel Administration. In each hostel
there are two/three deep freezers to meet the necessity of the dinning halls. A
special emphasis is given on the quality of food and the cleanliness of the
premises.
III. COMPUTER ROOM
A computer room service for higher studies/research is
provided in each boys hostels with atleast 10 computers and a latest printer.
The service is being provided to the students after proper class timings. This
service is connected with local area network (LAN) for resident students of the
University.
IV. TELEVISION
Separate colored television facilities have been provided in
each of the boys hostels.
V. COMMON ROOM
The common rooms of the hostels provide numerous indoor game
facilities such as table tennis, carom board, chess, snooker and billiard.
VI. READING ROOM
The reading rooms in the hostels provide a variety of reading material
to the residents. These include Time, Reader’s Digest, Asia Week, Newsweek,
Cricketer, Urdu Digest and Akhbar-e-Jahan etc.
VII. NEWSPAPERS
A large number of English and Urdu Newspapers are provided in the each
of the boys hostels. These include Jung, The News, Dawn and Nawa-I-Waqat etc.
The Warden/Superintendent are authorized to increase/decrease the number of
Newspapers.
VIII. GUEST ROOMS (HOSTELS)
Well-furnished guest rooms are provided in all the hostels which
provide timely comfort to the students visitors.
IX. TELEPHONE
Telephone extensions from the main exchange of the University having
telephone numbers 9210071-74 are available in the hostels. In addition to it,
independent incoming numbers 9210061, 9210062 and 9210063 are available in Abu
Bakar Hall, Ummer Hall and Usman Hall respectively.
World call and Tele cards telephone booths service is also available
in all the hostels. More booths will be available in each boys hostels in
near future.
X. ELECTRIC WATER COOLERS
Electrical Water Coolers have been installed at various points in all
the hostels for provision of filtered chilled water.
XI. SUI GAS HEATERS / LAMPS / AIR COOLERS
Sui gas heaters have been installed in the T.V. rooms, Dinning Halls
and Mosques of each boy hostels to keep the internal environment warm during the
winter season.
XII.
GEYSERS
A system of hot water supply has been provided in each boys
hostels during the winter season in the washrooms and kitchen.
XIII. BADMINTON COURT
A well-equipped badminton court with lighting facilities is
located in each of the boys hostels to create a healthy atmosphere.
XIV. DISPENSARY
The residents of the hostels can also avail the facility of
dispensary located near / back the Abu Bakar Hall, with a full time qualified
dispenser and a Medical Officer who pays visits on the evening and is available
during the working hours at the University Dispensary near Head Office. For an
emergency ambulance service is available for 24 hours for the resident patients
to take them to the Hospital.
XV. SHOPPING CENTRE
A shopping center is located between the Abu Bakar Hall and
Umar Hall. This consists of a super store, a barber shop, fruit shop and
photocopying shop. One fruit shop is also located between Umar Hall and Usman
Hall Canteens in the individual hostels are also established which provide the
catering services till late at night.
XVI. UNIVERSITY CAFETERIA
University Cafeteria is located in front of Ummer Hall, which
comprehensively meets the catering needs of the hostels.
XVII. GYMNASIUM
The necessary material for bodybuilding, boxing, volleyball,
weight lifting and other light exercises is available in a separate building
adjacent to Abu Bakar Hall.
XVIII. OUTDOOR GAMES
The facility of outdoor games with adequate playgrounds is available
near the hostels. These games include basketball, cricket, football,
volleyball, lawntennis, shot put, javelin throw, hammer throw, racing, kabbadi
and rasa kashi etc.
XIX. TRANSPORT
Since the Campus is about ten kilometers away from the City, the
University has its own arrangement for traveling to the city and back. A fleet
of twenty buses and two coasters ply between the Campus and the City according
to the schedule announced from time to time by the Transport Committee. The
working/operation of the Transport Section is looked after by the Transport
Officer and Chairman, Transport Committee. A private bus service, KB., also has
a frequent service between campus and the city.
Even after University timings, regular shuttle bus service plies
between the hostels/Campus and the City till 10.30 P.M.
XX. WATER FACILITIES
Twenty-four hours running water is available in the hostels from the
main reservoir, which operates both on electric motors, as well as on diesel
engine (in case electricity fails). In addition to that, in emergency we have
deep well, donkey pumps and hand pumps available in the hostels.
XXI. HOSTEL LAUNDRY
A separate Hostel Laundry facilities have been provided in each
Hostels.
XXII. ELECTRICAL / PLUMBING MAINTENANCE
Electrical and Plumbing maintenances facilities are also provided in
each boys hostel. All complaints regarding electrical / plumbing default. |
