Boys Hostel's Rules

Rules and Regulations Relating to the Hostels

1.      All whole time students admitted directly to the University teaching departments for a regular course of study will  be eligible to apply for the accommodation in the University Hostels provided that the Vice-Chancellor may at his discretion, permit a student, who joins the University class for a diploma / Certificate course to reside in a  University Hostel.

2.      Admission in the Hostels cannot be claimed as a matter of right even the candidate is a bonafied student of this University.

3.      Applications in quadruplicate for allotment of seats in the University Hostels shall be submitted to the Chairman of  the concerned department. While recommending the names, the chairman of the concerned department shall forward all the application forms to the Superintendent of the Hostel. The third form to the concerned department.

4.      Failed students or students who rejoin after having done their M.A. / M.Sc.

      Are not eligible for allotment of seats in the University.

 5.      (A) M.A./ M.Sc.

In case of resident student studding M.A/ M.Sc.course he will be have to pass all papers of part-I in the one and the same academic session i.e. if he fails in the third chance of examination he will not eligible / entitled to stay in the hostel.

 (B) LAW.

In case of resident student studying law course, he will be have to pass all papers of L.L.B. (F.E.L.) part-I in one and the same academic session i.e. in 1st or 2nd Annual Examination failing which he will cease to be the resident of the University Hostel and also not be eligible / entitled for further admission in the University Hostel in future.

 Similarly the resident student of L.L.B. part-II courses will have to pass all the papers of part-II in one and the same academic session.i.e. In 1st or 2nd Annual Examination failing which he will not be eligible/entitled for further admission in the University Hostel in future.

 (C) B-Pharmacy / B.Sc engineering

 In case of resident student studying 4-years course i.e. B-Pharmacy or B.Sc Engineering, he will have to pass all papers of B-Pharmacy 1st provisional or 1st year of B.Sc Engineering in one and the same academic session i.e. in 1st or 2nd Annual Examination failing which he will cease to be the resident in the University hostel and also will not be eligible/entitled for further admission in the University Hostel in future.

Similarly the resident student of B-Pharmacy 2nd professional or B.Sc. Engineering 2nd year course will have to pass all the papers of 2nd professional B-Pharmacy or 2nd year B.Sc. Engineering in one and the same academic session i.e. in 1st or 2nd Annual Examination failing which he will cease to be the resident in the University Hostel and also will be eligible/entitled for further admission in the University Hostel in future.

 Similarly the resident student of 3rd Professional B-Pharmacy or 3rd B.Sc Engineering will also have B.Sc Engineering in one and the same academic session, i.e. in 1st or 2nd Annual Examination failing which he will cease to be the resident in the University Hostel and also will not be eligible/entitled for further admission in the University Hostel in the future.

             (D) Disciplines under Semester System

                        In case of the resident student studying a course under semester system like B.B.A, M.B.A, M.Com, or  B.Sc (Hons) Agricultural, the following rules shall be observed fir admission in the University Hostel: -

 ·        The resident student of B.B.A, M.B.A, M.Com, or B.Sc (Hons) Agricultural or other courses introduced from time to time will have pass all the papers of 1st and 2nd semester by the end of next academic session failing which he will cease to be the resident in the University Hostel and also will not be eligible / entitled for further admission in the University Hostel in future.

·        Similarly the resident students of 3rd and 4th semester if B.Sc (Hons) Agricultural will have to pass all the papers of 3rd and 4th semester by the end of next academic session failing which he will cease to be the resident in the University Hostel and also will not be eligible / entitled for further admission in the University Hostel in future.

·        Similarly the resident students of 5th and 6th semester of B.Sc (Hons) Agricultural will have to pass all papers of V and VI semester by the end of next academic session failing which he will cease to be the resident in the University Hostel and also will not be eligible / entitled for further admission in the University Hostel in future.

·        The candidates passing BBA / BCS course will be only be entitled / eligible for admission in the Hostel during his studies in MBA / MCS (Computer Science) if they opt the same discipline, e.g. the candidates after passing BBA course will only be entitled / eligible for Hostels Admission if they join MBA course. Further the candidates passing BCS course will only entitled / eligible for admission the University Hostel if they join M.Sc. Computer Science. In case of change in discipline they will loose their entitlement / eligibility for admission in the University Hostel.

6.      At the beginning of each academic year a resident shall be required to produce a certificate on the prescribed form from the Chairman of his Department to the effect that he is on the rolls of the Department concerned in order to get the allotment of his seat renewed.

7.      Hostel electric and Mess security must be refunded within calendar year after cancellation of Hostel seat.

8.      After admission, fee paid except December will neither be refunded not transferred.

9.      Students admitted in Hostel should pay all monthly dues of six months in advance.

    10.  all the Hostel dues at the time of admission shall be deposited in the Bank within one weak of the allotment of a seat in  the Hostel failing which the allotment shall be canceled. The warden is empowered to extend the period.

11.  the monthly Hostel dues shall be paid by the 10th of the month if they are not paid till 15th of each month, room will be double locked. The seats of the residents who fail to pay their dues by the end of the month may cancelled.

12.  Names of the students who have not paid their dues shall be reported by the superintendent to the Warden in the 3rd week of each month. The defaulters have hearts leave the Hostel. The warden Superintendents may, however allow a further period of grace in exceptional circumstances.

Discipline Rules for Girls Hostels

The following among others shall constitute acts of discipline. Violation of these rules may cause action against the erring residents by the Hostel administration.

  • Keeping unauthorized persons in the room / seat allotted to a resident.

  • Staying outside the hostel without permission / information.

  • Keeping guests without permission of the Superintendent, who is authorized to allow guests with or without a charge of Rs. 50/- per night per guest.

  • Subletting the room / seat allotted to the resident or any other room lying vacant for any reason.

  • Shifting to a room other than one allotted to the resident without permission of the Warden.

  • Not handing over vacant possession of the room / seat after the expiry of the allotment period.

  • Non-payment of Hostel dues within the allowed time period.

  • Keeping fire-arms, lethal weapons including air-gun contraband drugs, toxic, hazardous materials etc.

  • Keeping electric appliances, such a air conditioners. T.V.s, VCD players, VCPs, VCRs, ovens, burners, in the rooms.

  • Engaging in any immoral or violent activities, or creating nuisance, disturbance to other residents.

  • Causing willful change or damage to / or removing the Hostel properly.

  • Barricading stairs, corridors, gates and other areas of general use in the Hostel.

  • Staging sit-ins lock-ups, occupying gates and other areas general use in the Hostel.

  • Use of the Hostel premises / rooms for political assemblies or against the purpose for which they are meant.

  • Inviting outsiders to address Hostel residents without permission of the Warden / Superintendent.

  • Pasting of posters, writings, wall-chalking, slogans of any kind.

  • Playing of loud musical instruments in the rooms is not permitted Rs. 200/- fine may be charged for any violation.

  • Defying instruction of the hostel administration regarding general discipline, and other matters.
  • Entertaining visitors other than those listed in the individual’s visitors list except on the permission of the Superintendent.

  • The Hostel seat of any resident (student) may be cancelled at any time on violation of rules which cannot be challenged in any court.

  • The residents are required to abide by the rules of admission to hostel and discipline enforced by the University from time to time.
