M. PHIL SOCIOLOGY

Eligibility for M-Phil

1. The applicant must be a post-graduate with any social science.
2. Entry Test is a pre-requisite for admission.

Degree Requirement for M-Phil:

1. The M-Phil will be of two years (Four Semesters)
2. Successful completion of eight courses carrying three credit hours each.
3. Thesis will be compulsory for every student comprising of six credit hours
4. Passing Comprehensive Examination on completion of the course work
5. Minimum CGPA for the completion of the degree is 3.

• SOC – 501  Philosophy of Social Sciences

• SOC – 500  Advance Research Methodology

• SOC – 500  Advance Statistics

SECOND SEMESTER

• SOC – 600   Sociology of Development

• SOC – 601   Criminology

• SOC – 602   Sociology of Health                             

OR 

• SOC – 603   Techniques of Population Analysis

• SOC – 604   Gender Studies

• SOC – 605   Human Resource Development

• SOC – 750   Thesis
