INTER-COLLEGIATE SPORTS 2008

Sports teach individuals to think, to critically evaluate a situation, to rise to the occasion, to have a desired to succeed, to channel natural aggression and energy into healthy outlet. But the sad truth is that our playing fields are in a dismal state and are the hub of immoral and amoral activities.

We need to discover the reason for this state, and that too soon, for otherwise we will fall so far behind in the race for prosperity and success that we might never catch up to the rest of the world. In trying to fulfill this goal BZU is playing the lead role in reintroducing sports, while making sure that the academic activities do not suffer either. The goal is to initiate a new, fresh and healthy atmosphere in the playing fields. BZU will be holding its Annual Intercollegiate Sports Tournament 2008.

The matches will be played simultaneously in different cites of the University's area of jurisdiction. The matches will be held on weekends to facilitate the players and the spectators. The matches will be held with great aplomb and fanfare. They will be highly publicized in the host cities with coverage from both the print and electronic media. Players will be provided with new uniforms and adequate of each match. To drum up public interest the matches will be publicized lavishly well before the event.

This mega activity covering more than a 100 cities, linking more than 155 institutions, involving 300,000 students and reaching around 10 million people will require an estimated expenditure of Rs.25 million. An amount well spent and invested. This will also include the expenditure of sending the victorious teams abroad to participate in friendly matches with universities in other countries of Asia hence improving Pakistan 's image in the international community. Resultantly we have the possibility of reaching to 300,000 households. This will be an excellent opportunity for corporate image building.
