BS (4-YEAR) ELIGIBILITY, MERIT AND AGE LIMIT FOR ADMISSION
1.BOTANY
Eligibility: A candidate who has passed Intermediate Examination (Pre-Medical) from a Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education of Pakistan or an equivalent examination recognized by the University with Biology as an elective subject is eligible for admission to BS in Botany (Ist Semester) provided that he/she has secured at least 45% marks in the subject of Biology as well as in the aggregate of Intermediate or equivalent examination.
Computation of Merit: The merit shall be determined as under:-
Marks in Intermediate or equivalent examination + Marks in the subject of Biology + 20 marks for Hifz-e-Quran.
2.CHEMISTRY
Eligibility: A candidate who has passed Intermediate Examination (Pre-Medical or Pre-Engineering) from a Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education of Pakistan or an equivalent examination recognized by the University with Chemistry as an elective subject is eligible for admission to BS in Chemistry (Ist Semester) provided that he/she has secured at least 45% marks in the subject of Chemistry as well as in the aggregate of Intermediate or equivalent examination.
Computation of Merit: The merit shall be determined as under:-
Marks in Intermediate or equivalent examination + Marks in the subject of Chemistry + 20 marks for Hifz-e-Quran.
3.MATHEMATICS
Eligibility: A candidate who has passed Intermediate Examination with Science from a Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education of Pakistan or an equivalent examination recognized by the University with Mathematics as an elective subject is eligible for admission to BS in Mathematics (Ist Semester) provided that he/she has secured at least 45% marks in the subject of Mathematics as well as in the aggregate of Intermediate or equivalent examination.
Computation of Merit: The merit shall be determined as under:-
Marks in Intermediate or equivalent examination + Marks in the subject of Mathematics + 20 marks for Hifz-e-Quran.
4.PHYSICS
Eligibility: A candidate who has passed Intermediate Examination with Science from a Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education of Pakistan or an equivalent examination recognized by the University with Physics and Mathematics as elective subjects is eligible for admission to BS in Physics (Ist Semester) provided that he/she has secured at least 45% marks in the subject of Physics as well as in the aggregate of Intermediate or equivalent examination.
Computation of Merit: The merit shall be determined as under:-
Marks in Intermediate or equivalent examination + Marks in the subject of Physics + 20 marks for Hifz-e-Quran.
5. STATISTICS
Eligibility: A candidate who has passed Intermediate Examination from a Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education of Pakistan or an equivalent examination recognized by the University with Statistics as an elective subject is eligible for admission to BS in Statistics (Ist Semester) provided that he/she has secured at least 45% marks in the subject of Statistics as well as in the aggregate of Intermediate or equivalent examination.
Computation of Merit: The merit shall be determined as under:-
Marks in Intermediate or equivalent examination + Marks in the subject of Statistics + 20 marks for Hifz-e-Quran.
6. ZOOLOGY
Eligibility: A candidate who has passed Intermediate Examination (Pre-Medical) from a Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education of Pakistan or an equivalent examination recognized by the University with Biology as an elective subject is eligible for admission to BS in Zoology (Ist Semester) provided that he/she has secured at least 45% marks in the subject of Biology as well as in the aggregate of Intermediate or equivalent examination.
Computation of Merit: The merit shall be determined as under:-
Marks in Intermediate or equivalent examination + Marks in the subject of Biology + 20 marks for Hifz-e-Quran.
Age Limit in all the six disciplines:
A candidate must not have attained the age of 24 years on the last date fixed for receipt of applications for admissions.
EQUIVALENT EXAMINATIONS:
The University recognizes the following examinations as equivalent to the Intermediate Examination of the Pakistani Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education:
a) Intermediate Examination of the Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education, Azad Kashmir.
b) Cambridge Overseas Higher School Certificate.
c) British General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level).
d) American High School Graduation Diploma (12th Grade).
The equivalence of grades & certificates issued by the institutions mentioned at (b) to (d) above is to be determined by the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC). The applicants having passed equivalent examination from these institutions are required to attach with their applications such equivalence certificates showing aggregate marks and marks in the subject being opted.
